The Genecast News Service converts newsfeeds and weblogs to Usenet News. This means you can use any newsreader, such as Netscape or Microsoft Outlook Express, to access the Genecast News Service. If you set up your newsreader to check for new messages regularly, news will pop up in your inbox automatically.
In the Genecast News Service, a newsgroup corresponds with a single XML newsfeed. Every news item results in a message in the newsgroup. Additionally, the Genecast News Service generates messages with background information about the newsfeed, and messages with the author's subscriptions and blogroll feeds when available.
